Silas Baustert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 26, 2023.
Silas Baustert passed on November 17, 2022. Beloved son of Timothy and Dawn Baustert of Essex, VT. Youngest brother to Samara Baustert of Essex, Alix Baustert and Aidan Johnson of Essex, Haley Baustert of Essex, Amaya Baustert of South Burlington, Austin Lee-Baustert and Madison Stephenson of Essex, Jared Lee-Baustert and Megan Lopez of Essex, and Wolf Baustert of South Burlington. Adored grandson of James and Theo Baustert of Barrington, IL, Gayla Lee of Yuba City, CA and great grandson of June and Jerald Walker of Live Oak, CA. Silas is additionally survived by numerous aunts, uncles, great aunts, cousins and friends.

Silas, also lovingly known as "Si-Guy" or "Choncho" was never afraid to be himself and welcomed others to do the same. He was always the kid that included everybody, child or adult, and made them feel special- a fact that made his parents immensely proud of him. Silas had a beautiful imagination, a heart so pure and most of all, he never failed to make one smile and laugh.

Silas loved Disney, especially Stitch and Star Wars. He was lucky enough to visit in California and Florida where he excitedly ran around the parks and got to visit "Lizard Beach" as he called it. His other favorite place to travel was Turks & Caicos where he could go down the big blue slide for hours. Back in VT, he was either playing soccer, basketball with friends or going to "ninja" (American Ninja Warrior Junior).

When at home, Silas enjoyed gaming on his PC, drawing/ writing comics, playing outside with his siblings, cuddling with his puppies (Stella, Bayley, Louie and Gus) and having fancy hot chocolates with homemade popcorn to watch a "family movie". Although Silas was becoming better each year skating on the homemade ice rink, he thrived in the summer, swimming in his backyard from sun up until sun down.

Silas was thoughtful beyond his years, he would often verbalize profound and sometime humorous reflections like "Everyone has their own unique!" Or "Life has just gotten life-i-er!". Silas had a dream of starting a YouTube channel based on his everyday life with friends and family. He believed everyone should see and be a part of the happiness and joy that was his life. Silas brought light and love to every person he touched. He will be sorely missed by his family and his friends, an absence that will be felt forever.

A "Sila-bration" of Life will be held April 29, 2023 at The Barns at Lang Farm located at 45 Upper Main Street #101 in Essex Junction, VT 05452 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

In memory of Silas' love for adventure, and in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Make A Wish Foundation at https://wish.org/vermont. It is only fitting that his moving on will provide the means for other children to experience the joy of adventure.

So sorry for your lost.As I read your word I could see he was a xtra special young man. The thing that gives us strength to get through the grief of a tremendous loss is the beautiful memories they leave behind. You don´t know love until you carry a child and you don´t know pain until you have lost that child. May God bless your family.
