Sonia HAWRELIAK Obituary
Sonia passed away gently in Edmonton at the age of 86. She is dearly remembered by George, her loving husband of 43 years; son, Jim Robertson (Joan); daughters, Bonnie Tarchuk (Ross Sherwin), Margie Stinton (Don), Barbara Jane Elias (Peter) and Bev Runka (Darrel); 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Sonia was born and lived in Edmonton. She worked as a Certified Nursing Aide at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. After retirement Sonia and George travelled, enjoyed their home in Holyrood, family and friends, gardening, the local Seniors Centre and worshipping at Grace United Church. In 2012 they moved into Laurel Heights Seniors Residence where they appreciated the warm and dedicated staff as well as their beautiful apartment.
Sonia had an indomitable determination to live her life well in spite of the many losses and challenges she faced. She was a proud and loving mother, wife and grandma. Sonia had many life-long friends who will also miss her.
A Celebration of Sonia's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Grace United Church, 6215 - 104 Avenue, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5M 0H9.

Dear cousin George, Beverly and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Sonia's passing. She was a very gracious, gentle lady and I know she will be deeply missed by you.
