Sonya Irene Tustin Maset, 46, of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018, in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
She was born January 5, 1972, in New Martinsville, W.Va., a daughter of Shirley Stewart Tustin and the late Terry Tustin.
Sonya worked as an registered nurse in the emergency department of Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. She enjoyed traveling to scenic and historical places, working in her yard and caring for her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Sonya is survived by her husband, Patrick Maset, whom she married July 22, 2017. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Betty Stewart; her children, Shelby Courtney of Mocksville, N.C., Rocky Tennant of Hundred, W.Va., and Cassie Tennant of Waynesburg; stepchildren, Isabella Maset and Angelo Maset; her grandchildren, Oliver Tennant of Waynesburg and Audree Courtney of Mocksville; three sisters, Yvonne Graham (Sean), Tonya Tomlinson (Rich Nelson) and Terri McDougal; several nieces and nephews; her father- and mother-in-law, David and Karen Maset; and many special friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Michael Junior Stewart, and her paternal grandparents, Helen Aline Tustin and Ray Newt Tustin.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public viewing. Cremation services are entrusted to Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels. Family and friends will join to celebrate Sonya's life Saturday, September 29, in the home of Rocky Tennant.
