Stephen Cozzi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 3, 2024.
In Loving Memory of Steve

Steve was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Nick J. Cozzi and Denise C. Cozzi. Steve is survived by his loving fiancée, Kay Elizabeth Berger, father figure to her sons Jacob and Joseph Berger, his brother Nick Cozzi, nephew Nicholas Cozzi, future in-laws Lynn & John Matassa, Tracy Tallon and (Tony) Joanne & Adrian Smith along with many beloved cousins who held a special place in his heart.

Taken from us too soon, Steve had an exciting future ahead, with plans to marry his adored fiancée Kay... and embark on a new adventure in Florida in the coming months. He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and the dreams he held dear.

As a wonderful friend to many, Steve had a remarkable ability to touch lives with his knowledge, kindness, quick wit, and undeniable charm. His infectious laughter and generous heart made every moment spent with him a true gift.

An avid football fan and passionate golfer, Steve found joy in the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it brought.

Steve was truly one of a kind, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed deeply and will forever remain in our hearts, living on in the memories of the countless lives he touched.

Celebration of life will be held:

We will never forget when Steve wanted to come over to the house to make us lasagne. He did and brought all the ingredients! He did an awesome job and we had a wonderful evening laughing, talking and enjoying the company. It was a great recipe and I wish I would have written it down. Thank you Steve

I met Steve and Kay back in the 80´s, we had fun boating and snowmobiling. I was so happy to see they found one another again and were so in love. I am sorry for your loss. Taken way too young.

My heart goes out to everyone grieving during this difficult and unexpected time. Steve had become my uncle, and I'm deeply saddened that he won't get to pursue the dreams he created with my Aunt Kay. You will be greatly missed by many.

I first met Steve in 1981 during high school. We played softball together on 3 different teams up until around 2005 or 2006. Many good times including after games with the guys. He was a good guy, a good friend and a good ball player. I will miss him and l will always remember him.

Steve and his brother Nick are the sons of the late Nick and Denise Cozzi. The Cozzis lived on Rusty Drive in Des Plaines where Steve and Nick enjoyed a childhood with terrific friends and neighbors. Steve is at rest with his Mom and Dad. God Bless the Cozzi family!!
