Stephen Henault Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 8, 2024.
It is with sadness we announce the death of Stephen Wayne Henault after a short illness. Steve passed away on November 6th, 2024. He was a carpenter by trade and a family man in his heart. He loved his wife Patricia Deane (Simons) Henault until his last breath, and the two spent 53 wonderful years together, truly until death do they part. His three daughters and their families brought him joy. He was a loyal man and spent 42 years working in the construction industry for Granite State Acoustics installing ceilings. He retired from this work in 2018. He enjoyed his retirement immensely spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and traveling with Patty. He was active until the final weeks of his life, even traveling to Italy as recently as September 2024.

Steve was a builder at his core and loved to create homes for his family and was significantly involved in either renovating or building each of the houses the family resided in, even through his retirement years. This wish to create is best illustrated through the family's "camp" on Lake Horace in Weare NH. Steve both renovated the original structure and then ultimately tore down and completely rebuilt a new modern camp for his family to enjoy even beyond his years - as a future gift to family and friends. Lake Horace was Steve's retreat whether he was taking the grandchildren tubing or sitting at the center of the beautiful covered outdoor kitchen he built for friends and family to enjoy.

Steve was born on October 29th, 1952 to Raymond Joseph Henault and Anne Mary (Welch) Henault. He was raised in Goffstown NH, and graduated from Goffstown High School in 1970. Steve is survived by his two brothers, Raymond (and his wife Marilyn) of Saco Maine and Gregory (and his wife Janet) of Londonderry New Hampshire. Steve is also survived by his wife Patty, daughters: Rebecca, Jacquelyn and Lindsay and their families.

Steve was blessed to have his entire family reside relatively locally and was able to spend significant time being involved with his daughters' families. Rebecca Anne Osburn and Adam Osburn of Goffstown, daughters Madison (Osburn) Batbouta and Meredith (Osburn) Sullenger. Jacquelyn Dee Blake and Chad Blake of Concord, their children Carlee Blake and Logan Blake. Lindsay Deane Baker and Christopher Baker of Windham, their children, Avery, Ethan, Audrey and Elijah.

Those who had the good fortune to have known him are sad to say goodbye to Steve but glad for having known him. He made the world a better place for those he was near. The family is holding calling hours open to the public wishing to pay their respects at French and Rising Funeral Home in Goffstown, NH on Tuesday November 12th from 3pm - 6 pm. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Flowers are welcome as well as donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html

Mr. Henault, you were the light of the neighborhood at the lake! I have many memories of chatting with you from our deck, watching you take your kids and then grandkids tubing, boating etc. You were always smiling, laughing and fixing things. Mrs. Henault and family I am so sorry for your loss, we will keep you in our prayers.

Since I was a little girl, I remember Steve smiling! Every time I´ve seen him he has had a contagious smile on his face, was always so warm, and treated me like family. All my love goes to his family during this time.
