Stephen Parrish Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2021.
Stephen Anthony Parrish, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ Passed away, February 11, 2021 at the age of 50 Stephen was born in Elgin, Illinois in 1970. He moved to Tempe Arizona, with his parents Stephen Sr., Mary and 2 older sisters, in 1976. He was a frisky, curious, lovable & adventurous boy. He played pop warner football, little league baseball – loved to fish, camp and be outdoors. He was fondly known as "Stevie" to his family. He loved to play pranks on his 3 sisters and was especially close to his youngest sister Katie, who is approximately 10 years his junior. He was humble, charismatic and others were drawn to him. He was kind. He was always willing to help others. He had a sense of humor second to none and when he was around there was light – sparkling twinkling light, one could not help but smile and radiate themselves when he was near. He was an Electrician by trade. As a young man he traveled to live in other parts of the country. He resided in Colorado a bit and then moved on to Northern California to experience the "Berkeley Scene". As it was in his nature, he made good friends in both locations. In 1995 he married Dana on a Colorado River Boat in Laughlin, Nevada. A few years later along came their daughter Maya Rose and for many years they resided in Tempe, AZ. Stephen adored children, especially his daughter Maya Rose. He was fond of family & tradition. There were some hardships & obstacles along the way, however, he never lost his sparkle and always had a hug for others. Maya likes to say he was simply a goofball! He also loved music and was a fantastic chef! He leaves behind his Wife, Dana; Daughter, Maya Rose; Stepson, Christian. Parents: Stephen & Mary, Stepmom, Terry, Stepdad Del; 3 Sisters, Tina (Gary), Rhonda (Doby), Katie, (Craig) We all loved and adored him and gravely miss him. Also surviving him are his Aunts & Uncles, all his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends. A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85044, Sunday, February 21st, 2021. A live stream link will also be available for on-line viewing which will be posted prior to the service.

That he will always be missed. He was a one of a kind friend and his sense of humor was special indeed. Love and best wishes to his family and friends. Love from Mary Frances and children.

I imagine you Dancing in heaven, I even dedicated the song "Dancing in the Sky" to you. This world kept you captive - and you had to be set free. I wish I could feel your hug and see your smile just one more time. Soar in the heavens sweet & beautiful
