Steven Alan Sussman

SUSSMAN ESQ., Steven Alan of Waltham formerly of Belmont, passed away of ALS on April 15, 2023 at the age of 76.

Cherished son of the late Maurice and Lilyan (Cymbol) Sussman. Beloved and devoted husband to his wife Robin Lichtenstein of nearly 40 years whom he called his "bride". Steven leaves his son David Sussman and his wife Bonnie, daughter Leah (Sussman) Imig and her husband Josiah Imig; his darling granddaughters, who called him Poppy, Abigail and Charlotte Sussman and the upcoming arrival of a granddaughter Imig; his dear sister Jana Rosenthal; brother-in-law Stephen Lichtenstein and Karen Jacoby; Adam and Gena Lichtenstein; the late Mark Lichtenstein; special nieces Stacy Rosenthal and Jody Doyle; nephews Samuel and Ian Lichtenstein, John Ferrara and Lance Doyle; mother-in-law Cynthia Lichtenstein; his late father-in-law Ralph Lichtenstein; a great niece and nephew Bari and Carson Doyle and the dearest of friends.

Steven was born in Boston and grew up in Newton. After graduating Newton High School, he attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his law degree from Boston University. He was a state and federal public defender for 15 years before opening his own practice as a criminal defense attorney and personal injury litigator. He was so proud that he worked for 50 years as a lawyer. He was an avid sports fan of all of the Boston teams.

Funeral services will be held at Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill, 824 Washington Street, Canton on Monday, April 17 at 12:30pm. Interment will immediately follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Shiva will be held on April 17 and 18, 7:00-9:00pm. Minyan service will start both nights at 7:30pm.
