Sue Hayes Reeves Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 22, 2025.
Dallas - Sue Hayes Reeves, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on February 12, 1934, in Humboldt, Tennessee, she lived a vibrant and love-filled life that touched the hearts of many.

Sue built a remarkable career as a successful real estate agent in Memphis, where she worked for more than 30 years. Her dedication and professionalism earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her career accomplishments, Sue was known for her warmth, generosity, and zest for life.

A devoted Baptist, Sue lived her faith through action. She often said, "Show me you are a Christian by your actions, not your words," and she embodied this belief every day. Her kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Sue was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill Reeves, and her son, Hayes Reeves. She is survived by her daughters Susan Reeves and Beth Gardenhire; her son-in-law Brian Gardenhire; grandsons Roy Gardenhire and George Gardenhire; granddaughters Lauren Habony and Laine Habony; sister-in-law Patricia Priddy; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She had an infectious spirit that made her the life of every gathering. Whether fishing at dawn or dancing late into the evening, Sue embraced each moment with enthusiasm. She loved any kind of game-always ready for a challenge-and found joy in reading a good book. Her eagerness to try new things kept her young at heart throughout her life.

Sue's legacy is one of love, laughter, faith, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 21, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Flyaway High Cotton Brewing 589 Monroe Ave. If you'd like, wear Sue's favorite color green.

I was fortunate to have spent many years spending good times with Sue Reeves and her family. The words I´ve read here are true. Playing games and dancing into the night with much laughter were common occasions. I am thankful to have gotten to spend many hours with her during her last year here on earth. How blessed I am to have known her.
