Memorial service for Susan Huneycutt Wier, 67, will be held Sunday May 15th at Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church, Reno. A graveside service will begin at 2PM in the cemetery followed by a Memorial gathering in the recreation room. Mrs. Wier died in the early morning of Sunday, April 24th, 2022. Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Joann Brabham Huneycutt and Herbert Phillip Huneycutt Sr. She is also predeceased by her husband Thomas Withrow Wier, her brother Herbert Phillip Huneycutt Jr. and her beloved youngest son Andrew Wardlaw Wier.
Growing up as the oldest of three, Susan helped raise her younger brothers until going off to college in Alabama. Throughout her life, she worked different positions in retail, customer service and copy writing, but her greatest accomplishments were raising her children and taking care of her dear husband Tom during his battle with cancer. Her language of love was cooking and feeding her loved ones; her love was unconditional for her children.
Surviving are her daughter Meredith Wier; and son Wesley Wier. Her brother Bruce Huneycutt, sister-in-law, Donna Huneycutt (Phil) and brothers and sisters-in-law, Mac and Sara Wier, C.W., III and Karen Wier, and Dick and Clair Wier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
