Music, songs and lyrics of The Association, specially from Terry, will always be a part of remembering my youth. I live in The Netherlands and the radiostations not often played their music. Must order their albums specially from the US. On my school that time I let them listen to Requiem for the masses. Sad to read he passed away. More than special for me, he died at my sons birthday.

Simply, I was sad to hear he passed. If I had known that I worked so close to him, I would have tried to visit him. I really liked "Never My Love". As a matter of fact, when I tried to play it on the piano, it is the first full song I have learned to play...And I don't know how to play the piano. The song was that good to me.
Thank God for him and the Association.

I was fortunate to see The Association many times at The Ice House in Pasadena California. This was before their first album. Terry's songs and the bands harmonies will live in my mind forever. Thank you Terry!

I am a long time Fan of Terry´s and just want to express my deepest sympathy to his family. His music has remained a constant in my life since I bought my first Association 45 in 1966? I Cherish (pun fully intended) his contribution to the best Vocal Band of the era. His and their music is literally timeless. May he Rest in Peace and the Perpetual Light Shine upon him>

Godspeed Terry, and thank you for the wonderful, wonderful music memories with "The Association" and some of the anthems of my youth, and beyond. Unforgettable.

The Association was among the best bands of the 1960s, regardless of what the "critics" would write. Their harmonies, Terry's vocals and writing talent with songs such as Cherish and Requiem for the Masses. I played Requiem for the Masses for my U.S. history students when I gave a lesson of Vietnam War protest songs. I only had time to play a dozen during class, but I had to include Requiem due to its haunting message. I remember seeing a PBS special just a few years ago when Terry and other members gathered in Idaho to sing one last time with Larry Ramos. The PBS special included "Never my Love," but it would have been great to hear the entire concert. Sympathies to the Kirkman family. I still have all of those songs in my head after all of these year.

As a teenager in the '60s, I loved The Association's music. (still have 6 of their albums.) Terry was a nice guy, as well as an outstanding singer, musician, and songwriter. Hearing of his death this morning was heartbreaking. I met the band in 1980 when I was a disc jockey, and met up with them whenever we were working in the same media market for a few more years. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven, now they've REALLY got a hell of a band! Rest in Peace and music, Terry.

Junior High School dances...boys and girls, awkwardly holding each other, swaying back and forth to "Cherish". Listening to music that touches the heart, remains in the heart. Thank you, Terry, for your contribution to memories, both meaningful and heartfelt. Condolences to family, band mates and friends.

My favorite memory of Terry was when he shared his personal sketchbook with me back in (around) 1969 in Chicago. The title page read, "This was not what I intended." That page was followed by some very good and highly interesting sketches of multiple subjects. He knew I would get a kick out of it as I was an artist. Every time I think of that title page, I laugh. Terry was one of the sweetest guys I have ever met. I felt very lucky to be friends with Terry and the other guys in the Association. My fondest memories of those years involved the Association.

Many years ago while working for a radio & television ratings company, the randomly generated number I dialed belonged to Terry. He stated he was very much interested in the survey and kindly answered the questions. After one of the questions, a brief conversation about music occurred and he sang a verse from 'Cherish'. Spot on. Goodnight, Kind Man.
