It is with great sadness that the family of Terry Anne Taylor-Thomas announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Terry at the Foothills Hospital on Monday, May 20, 2013, with her family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband Brad Thomas; daughter Torianne; son Tristan; grandson Tayden "Ralphie"; parents Ralph and Trudy Taylor; mother-in-law Gwen Flood; brothers Todd (daughter April), Travis (Lisa) Taylor; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Terry will be sadly missed by her family, friends and colleagues. A Celebration of Terry's life will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Easter Seal Camp Horizon, Box 540, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0 or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200, 119 - 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6. I had the pleasure of working with Terry at Bert Church High School. I remember how her smile would light up the room, that her determination was empowering and how her enthusiasm for life was contagious.

Terry and I became friends through figure skating, early car pools to the arena and competitions. It was a great blessing to know Terry she was a wonderful person to know. Warm, kind, and funny. As the CDA at Meadowbrook I was lucky enough to work closely with Terry. Over the past two years we also developed a great friendship. She cut to the point and spoke from her heart. She was a great friend and mentor to me and I would go to her often for advice and ideas. My daughter also attends RJ and always felt safe speaking to Mrs. Thomas when she needed help. She will be so missed. My thoughts are with her entire family during this difficult time.

I am still in shock over the lose of my friend. Terry and I worked together at Bert Church HS as well as RJ Hawkey. Terry had a way of making everyone feel important no matter who you were. She was a take charge, no nonsense person and didn't do anything halfway, she loved life. Terry was very proud of her family and loved you all deeply. Terry will be missed so very much.

I was shocked to hear of the news about Terry. I skated with Terry for years in Sherwood Park. When I think of Terry only memories of laughter and good times always comes to mind. She was funny, always had a smile, and life was fun, a good friend. We lost touch for a few years and then re-connected briefly when our daughters were in Canskate briefly before she relocated south. When meeting up as adults she had not changed a bit, it was all smiles, laughs and hugs!!! I feel so lucky to have know her. My thoughts go out to her family.

Terry and I shared many years watching our little girls grow up on the ice... skating, spinning, dancing, and making up their own dance interpretives. I have such fond memories of both of you and especially of Terry from the days of jumping and spinning at the Sherwood Park Figure Skating Club.
Terry had the brightest eyes and most joyful smile. She loved to skate and I loved teaching her.

I enjoyed working with Terry at Bert Church High School. She was always a very positive person who truly cared for the students with whom she worked. Terry always spoke so proudly about her family. You will truly be missed, Terry.

I knew Terry for seven years as a dedicated colleague and as someone I could approach for advice and resources. We worked together at Bert Church High School and maintained contact over the years. I so valued Terry's opinion with regards to making the decision for a francophone education for our daughters. This past year we worked together in a professional learning capacity and Terry's insight and contributions were valued by all of us. Terry you were a straight-up kind of woman with a huge heart, a no-nonsense attitude, and a devoted Mum and wife. You made people feel stronger in your presence; you will be missed dearly and your memory cherished.

I had the pleasure of working with Terry for several years at Bert Church High School and also knowing her outside of work. Terry had a true gift of working with and supporting students and colleagues. She absolutely treasured her family and her positive & passionate spirit was evident in everything she did.
