THELMA M. LUNDY
AGE: 79 NEPTUNE
Thelma Maud Lundy, 79, of Neptune, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center Hospice, Neptune, NJ. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Asbury Park, NJ to the late Warren and Sadie Newland. Thelma retired from United Telecontrol Electronics, Inc. in Asbury Park as a Soldering Technician. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family, especially her granddaughter and great granddaughters.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Lundy; son, Joseph Kenneth Lundy (Karreem Rasoul); two brothers, Warren (Uncle Bro) and Melvin (Uncle Buno) Newland; two sisters, Edith (Aunt Edith) Turner and Louise (Aunt Weezie) Craig. Thelma is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Lundy and Kim Overton of Neptune; son, Bray (Naadeem Yusuf) whom she called her "Buddy" of Neptune; granddaughter, Nikkole (Travis) Watson, Belcamp, MD; two great granddaughters, Jasmyn and Jordyn; brother, Vincent Newland; two sisters, Rosemarie Thompson of Dover Delaware and Elaine Picciopti of Long Branch; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 10 am Monday, October 18 until the time of the funeral at 11 am at the James H. Hunt Funeral Home, 126 Ridge Ave, Asbury Park. Interment will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown. Letters of condolence for the family may be emailed to the funeral home ([email protected]).

Bray, Carol, Kim & Nik
For some reason your Mom/Grandma came across my mind today and when I searched online, I discovered that she had transitioned from time into eternity. I shall always remember her sweet spirit especially with all of the boys in Fisher Ave neighborhood when we were growing up in the 70s. May the Lord continue to bless you as you adjust to her absence. God bless.

Nikki, my condolences go out to your family. I have fond memories of Nan. She was always at our track meets cheering all of us on. She became "Nan" to me also. God bless you and all of the family during your time of need. Nan is absolutely in a better place!
