I went to St Pats and the U of I with Tom. He was smart and always kind. A great Shamrock. My thoughts are with his family. Chris Trost '80.

Tom and I knew each other and were friend for over 30 years because he and I were both CPA's who worked in the not for profit (NFP) field for a myriad of organizations throughout our respective careers & I had the distinct pleasure of working with Tom at United Way of Suburban Chicago and then United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. He was always a kind soul, and was very helpful to me as he served as a reliable reference throughout my career. We had fun moments as passionate Big Ten fans, Tom rooted for U of Illinois and I rooted for U of Iowa Hawkeyes, and we had some fun texts and calls after football and basketball games. He was brilliant and passionate in his support of the mission statements for the NFP for which he served key roles, and I truly believe the world is a better place because of Tom's passion to help others. Regards, Lowell B. Raven, CPA

Was blessed to first know Tom at St. Juliana elementary school and then at St. Patrick H.S. Even at a young age, Tom displayed an amazing "old soul" kindness always placing others ahead of himself in the most friendly and caring manner. The world was truly blessed by Tom and now he has his crown of righteousness after having fought the good fight, having kept the faith and having finished his earthly race.

Tom and I were roommates for our first 8 weeks as Evans Scholars. From our first telephone discussion a few weeks before school started, when we were focusing on such important topics as "whose stereo should we use?", Tom was one of THE friendliest, most considerate, and genuinely nice people I have had the pleasure to have known. We had some fun times in those four years and I know that he continued his legacy as he became a family man and professional. Rest in God's Peace, Gallo.

When I think of Tom, I think of his gentle wisdom. Tom was on our board for over a decade and a committee volunteer for many more years than that. When a meeting got contentious or challenging, Tom often reached out afterward with some sage advice or a practical tool. He was deeply kind, thoughtful, and committed to making our community better. My sincere condolences to Tom's family on your loss. He made us all better humans, and I'm grateful to have known him.
