Thomas Hartnett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 17 to Nov. 18, 2010.
Hartnett Thomas Clarke Hartnett (Tom) was born July 20, 1927 to Francis and Margaret in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Tom passed away peacefully at home on his beloved acreage November 14, 2010 at the age of 83. He will be remembered with love by his wife Pat; daughters Kathy (Rob Warriner and Talia) and Diane (Terry Lloyd); his sister Peg (Keith Quittenbaum); extended family, and his dogs Jasper, Mookie, Tassey and Toddy. Tom was predeceased by his sister Irene (Mel Shouse); his brothers Jack (Stella) and Glen (Jean); sisters-in-law Peggy (Jim Lewis) and May Scott and Tom Warriner. Tom was a skilled carpenter who spent his career in construction, teaching and building services. Tom's immediate family, his many nieces and nephews, his dogs and his acreage meant the world to him. He loved attending auctions for the pleasure of the bid but mostly for the visits with all of the people he met pursuing his hobby. Tom was a proud member of AA for 42 years. Through this fellowship he made many lasting and important friendships. He enjoyed his friends while walking at the Field House with the Cardiac Rehab Group. The family would like to thank Dr. Kris Stewart for his kind and compassionate care over the past two years. We would also like to thank the Saskatoon Home Care nurses and staff, Prairie Oxygen staff and St. Paul's Hospital. We will celebrate Tom's life on Saturday November 20, 2010 in Room Galaxy B at the Travelodge Hotel at 11 a.m. and we welcome all friends and family to join us. In keeping with Tom's love of all things simple please feel welcome to attend in your casual attire. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, S.P.C.A or a charity of your choice.

Pat-Kathy-Diane /Family..
42 years ago this Dec/06 Tom made a decision to join us in fellowship, held his head high and was proud of the gifts bestowed upon him , his family and the fellows that he shared and walked with.Whether @the meeting , the auction , coffee shop or kitchen table he provided wise counsel and often challenged the thinking of the rest of us ,which made many of us better people
Always proud of his girls [3 ], sometimes perhaps could even be accused of bragging a little . He was a friend that enjoyed a spiritual life
We the clan Cameron have and are grateful for the friendship of more than 40 years. Our hope will be to maintain that which we have enjoyed
We pray that Tom and each of you are granted peace and that god will grant all--- the serenity to accept the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference gods love ..stan/opal
