My sympathy to the Salway Family on the loss of your loved one. John Salway was our bus driver for years and years, and we knew his whole family because of that - plus we are related thru the Marquardt/Salway families. Later, Lola Salway was the bus driver for my children. I haven't seen anyone from the Salway family for years, but I remember the times when we spent many hours together. My Mother, Edith (Marquardt) Bowers and Lola Salway would spend much time together - either via phone or in person. I spent time with all of John & Lola's children, as well. We visited at their home or ours - plus, we went to the same Church - Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church in Monroeville. I remember playing in/at the Sand Table with Tom and his Sisters. The table was almost as big as the room - filled with sand and toys. The table and chairs had been painted bright red. It was a fun place to spend time. As we grew older, we went to the basement for our individual classrooms. We had some fun times in that Church. It was later torn down - but the memories will be in our hearts forever. Tom always had a smile and just "loved life." It was a blessing to have known him. May God Bless Tom's entire Family and keep them close in this time of sorrow - but yet joy in knowing that Tom is now in Heaven - smiling and spending time with other family members and friends.

Tom you were a wonderful person and you will be missed by all your friends and co-workers. I so enjoyed sharing my jokes with you. We had a great friendship and I will never forget you. Now you can walk and dance in heaven. And I know you will be watching your son skate from above. God speed Tom. I will miss you.

To Tom's family,
I worked with Tom at Sears 25-28 years ago and a group of us would
go out every Friday to Noble Romans.
I ran into Tom only 2 weeks ago at Target and talked a few minutes. I just read about Tom passing. Tom was a great person to know. To Tom's wife and family, my condolences and sympathy.

Tom will be truely missed. He was that happy face you needed on rough days at work. He also loved to talk about his boys and was so proud of them. He was always so helpful, nice and so easy to talk to. I will never forget him!!

I was shocked to hear of Tom's death this morning. I worked with him at Verizon and he always had a kind word and a smile. He was an inspiration in that he faced his day with grace and a smile. I didn't know him well, but I am very glad to have known him as long as I did. May God give you strength. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

What a Gift it was having known Tom.Tom is a very special man. His love of life was seen every day in the way he passed joy and happiness to all in his life. The love and joy and proudness in his eyes and smile when he talked about his sons lit up a room. Never once did I hear Tom complain about life. What a pleasure it was to know Tom and how very much I will miss him. I know that Tom is now with his Lord and is enjoying his eternal life with his Saviour. Thank You Tom for letting me be a part of your life as a friend.
God Bless the Salway Family in this time of sorrow. May you find strength in the arms of the Lord.
In praise and honor of Tom's life on earth

Tom was a true gift from God. Just the ability to believe and trust in God is a trait peculiar to so few. Tom had it all his life! We will miss you. Love to Kathy, Jim, John and brothers and sisters. Love, Uncle Jim

Catherine, Shirley, et. al.,
What a glorious life Tom had! Sure he was handicapped but what marvelous use he made of the body the Lord gave him. It is a pleasure to recall knowing and teaching Tom. I am confident he trusted in Jesus for his salvation as I pray his entire family did. We pray your faith be strengthened by the Holy Spirit during this time of mourning/celebration.

Tom and I worked together at
Sears Telecatalog Fort Wayne.
He had the most beautiful smile and
a voice of an angel when he spoke with our customers on the phone.
He will be missed. Tom was a good
and honest person.

To "Tommy's" wife, children and sisters.
I grew up as one of Tommy's contemporaries. (You probably have all called him "Tom" instead of "Tommy" for years.) We were the same age (I was 8 months older); his Dad was our bus driver. I was born without part of my right leg; Tommy was born with Spina Bifida. My Dad, Russ Brouwer, was Tommy's sponsor (and Cathy's) at Shriner's Hospital.
I live in Illinois now, but will always be connected to Allen County, so I always read the obituaries on line. I was shocked and extremely sorry to read this morning about Tommy's passing; He was part of Me, even though we were not close friends, and I haven't seen him for years. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Tom is with God and with his loved ones that have gone on before. You will be in my prayers as you go through this sad time. I know that God is with you in your sorrow.
