Thomas Tuton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2025.
Thomas John Tuton, 72, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Roswell, Georgia. Born on January 13, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom lived a life marked by dedication to family, professional excellence, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

Tom attended Quigley South High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DePaul University. His career began at Elgin Watch Company, where his talent and drive quickly propelled him to the role of Vice President before the age of 30. He remained in the watch industry for 24 years, building a reputation for leadership and integrity.

In the later chapter of his career, Tom served as Executive Vice President at Athens Stonecasting. Over his 28 years with the company, he formed lasting relationships that he deeply valued. His colleagues remember him not only for his business acumen but also for his warmth and unwavering support.

Tom's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his children Tom Tuton Jr., Dawn Tuton and their mother Lu Ann Tuton of Chicago; and Dory Tuton and her mother Kathy Tuton of Roswell. He was a devoted grandfather to Paige Tuton and Amber Tuton of Chicago, and Nathan Turner and McKinsey Turner of Roswell. His love for them was boundless and ever-present.

He is also survived by his siblings Jim Tuton, John Tuton, Karen Jarczyk, Mary Barrera, and Nancy Tuton-all of Chicago-who shared in many cherished memories throughout their lives together. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marceen Tuton.

A man of deep faith and infectious humor, Tom had an extraordinary ability to connect with others. Whether offering encouragement or sharing a well-timed joke, he brought light into every room he entered. He reminded those around him that they were loved by God and never alone-a message he lived out daily through kindness and compassion.

Outside of work and family life, Tom found great joy on the golf course. An avid golfer and longtime member of the Country Club of Roswell, he treasured the friendships formed there over the years. One of his proudest moments came when he achieved a hole-in-one-a memory he held dear.

Tom loved life fully and embraced each day with gratitude. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched-with laughter, faith, generosity, and love.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Funeral Service will be held on August 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Brigid's Catholic Church 3400 Old Alabama Rd. . A Celebration of Life will be held on August 26, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 03:00 PM at Country Club of Roswell 2500 Club Springs Dr.

Tom will truly be missed. He was one of the first people I played golf with at CCR 23 years ago, and from that very first round, his warm smile and positive attitude stood out. Always uplifting, always kind - Tom brought a special energy wherever he went.

You will be missed, Tom.
