Our hearts go out to you, Janie, and the rest of your family at this time. We watched the funeral live-stream and finished it now. Tom was truly a Godly man used of Him. He will be missed. May God bless you and yours in the future.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Tom Zempel. He was my roommate for one semester my freshman year at Pillsbury. Then, when I took my first church in the Danville, IL area, he was a youth pastor in Danville at Calvary Baptist. He was on my Ordination Council in 1977. After he left the Danville area, our paths only crossed a couple more times. I appreciate his faithfulness to the Lord throughout the years and know that Christ has already said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant." I assure the family of my prayers.

He taught me more in one year of coping Biblically with life than my entire 38 years of my Christian walk. He was an amazing man of God and will be truly missed. Many prayers to the family! God bless!

I am deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Zempel's passing away. He is one of the most genuine Christians I have come across. His trademark friendliness, his outta this world kindness and love coupled with his gentle smile and caring words will stay with us forever!
Dr. Zempel will be fondly remembered and greatly missed!
Last time we met I was one of his guests at the Fogo de Chao in Minneapolis. I cannot wait to dine with him again at the Celestial Fogo de Chao, both of us guests of the Risen Christ!

I babysat the Zempel kids all through my junior high and high school years. I love this family! They were so kind and loving to me, and showed me a wonderful example of how a Christian family should work. My prayers are with them during this difficult time. All my love!

Dr. Zempel was not only my professor at Central Seminary, but grew to be a trusted friend and mentor. Our prayers are with Jane and family. He will be greatly missed by others, for he generously invested his life in the lives of so many. God give you all comfort and peace in great abundance.

We are so saddened for your loss. But we rejoice knowing Pastor Tom is safely home! Altho it has been many years now, Tom and Janie left a lasting influence on our lives as they served at Calvary Baptist Church in Danville, IL. Steve and I were among the young lives they served. We both faithfully serve at Calvary today. May God bless you with his presence and grace now and in the days to come. Love, Steve and Mickie Benson
