Thomas Ziolkowski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2025.
Thomas C. Ziolkowski of Torrington, CT, formerly of New Britain, CT passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2025. Born in New Britain on November 9, 1960, Tom graduated from Pulaski High School in New Britain in 1978, and furthered his education at Goodwin Tech and Central Connecticut State University.

Tom had a notable career in the aerospace industry working at Pratt & Whitney as a machinist, Boeing and Sikorsky as a contracted Engineer and finally M-2 Systems. After retiring early, he took several jobs to fill his time until he found great joy as a part time bus driver for Dattco, where he, Mr. Tom, was cherished by the elementary students and their parents alike.

A man of simple pleasures, Tom relished the time he spent riding his motorcycle, swimming at Highland Lake and fishing with his son Daniel and soon to be daughter-in-law Jocelyn, brother Chet and 2 nephews Shawn and Patrick. These activities brought him immense satisfaction and peace. He also was a huge UConn Huskies Men and Women's Basketball fan and a die-hard Raiders fan.

Tom is survived by his son Daniel, his pride and joy, and his fiancé Jocelyn Vayan, his grand dog Freya, his brother's Chet and wife Jodi, Joe and wife Grace and his sister Margaret who cherished him. He is also survived by his nieces Kellie Morey(Jason), Heather Carr(Allan) who he had many chats and laughs with, Cassie Ziolkowski(Bryan) and his nephew Patrick Ziolkowski. Three great-nieces Rachel and Alexis Morey and Jordan Carr. Three great-nephews Shawn Carr, Alex and Brody Braun. He was held dear by many wonderful cousins, tons of friends, The New Britain (Zig's) Super Bowl Gang (you all know who you are) and his 2nd family Lisa Marino Boyce, her husband Chuck and their daughter's Erin and Carrie.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Chester Sr. and Mary Ziolkowski, brother Rob and nephew Jonathan who greeted him when he entered eternal life.

Tom's life was marked by a desire to please and help anyone who asked or needed it, his love for his family and friends, a passion for the outdoors and fishing, the freedom of a motorcycle ride, his mechanical ingenuity and passion for cooking, especially his stromboli, golabki and lasagna! His infectious smile, deafening voice and laugh and his kind heart will never be erased from our hearts or memories. We only wish we could have heard it for many more years. God gained another Angel and our family lost one of its brightest lights. So long for now! Until we meet again, we will keep you in our hearts and visit you in our dreams. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Thomas to American Heart Association of CT, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 or www.heart.org
