Timothy Alford Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2005.
SAINT-VITH, BELGIUM - On Aug. 1, 2005, at 7:30 a.m. in the city of Saint-Vith, Belgium, the death angel came and took our beloved Senior Airman Timothy Ryan Alford away. Timothy was born Oct. 6, 1980, to Burch Alford Jr. and Audrey Alford in Fitchburg, Mass. Being the son of military parents, Timothy traveled to and lived in different states and countries and finally completed his education. Graduating from Olive Ames High School in North Easton, Mass., Tim played football, was a member of the marching band and sang in the show choir. Timothy, at an early age along with his mother, joined the United House of Prayer for all People. After moving to Massachusetts, he became a very active and faithful member of the 3rd Heaven Shout Band in Boston and the New England Marching Band. Timothy joined the United States Air Force in March of 2000, and after basic training, he was stationed in Arkansas, and then in Germany where he was an Air Force firefighter. Being a firefighter was a model job for him because he always wanted to do something that would help someone else. He also did a temporary tour in Kuwait. Timothy was a very loving and devoted person to his parents, brother and best friend. He loved and was greatly loved by his nieces, nephews and the rest of his family. When he wasn't customizing his truck to be in car and truck shows, he was at the batting cage practicing his game. He had been offered to tryout for the Minor leagues and was a devout Boston Red Sox fan. He also loved collecting baseball cards, listening to music, practicing his trombone and sightseeing with his Air Force buddies. Timothy indeed was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his parents, Burch and Audrey Alford of North Easton, Mass.; his brother, Erik Alford and wife, Amber, of Asheville, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Geneva Brown, and his paternal grandparents, Burch and Annie Mae Alford of Hampton, Va.; three nieces, Crystal, Aliyah and Hannah Alford; and one nephew, Erik Alford Jr.; seven aunts and two uncles; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Our dear Timothy, you have gone from our sight, but never from our minds. We will carry your spirit in our hearts forever. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at United House of Prayer for all People, 1811 Ivy Ave., Newport News, Va. Interment will follow in Hampton National Cemetery (Phoebus Section) with full military honors. Professional services entrusted to the staff of Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cookebros.com.
