Timothy J. O'Reilly

Passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024 in Florida at the age of 63.

Tim was born on November 18, 1960 in Columbus, OH to Robert F. and Capitola D. O'Reilly. Tim grew up around the country and spread his wings and amazingly friendly personality around the globe. He attended elementary school in Haddam, CT, middle school and high school in Rockville, MD where he graduated from Good Counsel High School in 1978. He began his college studies at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, transferred and finished college at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN, graduating in 1982. It was during college that he spent a year studying in Japan. His summers in college were spent working for Poolside, maintaining, and cleaning pools around the Twin Cities. It was his international travel that helped him step into his career at Northwest Orient Airlines. With this job that began in the Twin Cities, his reach and span across the globe continued. He worked with Northwest in the Twin Cities, Washington D.C., Japan, Grand Rapids, MN, Anchorage and Fairbanks, AK, Tampa and Sarasota, FL. He stepped away from Northwest soon after they became Delta. He maintained his home in Minnesota but lived most of the year in Florida walking the beach, stopping at his favorite spots, and enjoying sunsets from his balcony.

As he moved around the globe, the close friendships that developed from neighbors, teammates, families, roommates, classmates, and co-workers continued to expand. With Tim, these friendships that developed were lifelong.

As great as his friendships were, Tim truly loved and valued his family. He took advantage of his flight status to make sure he got to as many family events as possible. All were welcome at his home. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Capitola O'Reilly and his brother Bobby. Survived by siblings Cindy and Chuck Felice, Todd and Lee O'Reilly, Ted and Mary O'Reilly, Terrence and Pam O'Reilly, Nilda O'Reilly. He was an amazing uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tim will also be greatly missed by all his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A celebration of Tim's life will be planned for this spring.
