Tina Paraiso

Knoxville - Ernestine "Tina" Arnold Paraiso, age 99, of Knoxville, Tennessee and a former resident of Shannondale Healthcare Center, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. Her passion was writing poetry throughout her life and she also enjoyed composing Christian songs. In the 1940's she wrote and published a song, "If Your Heart is Aching" that was sung on many occasions in some of the Chicago area churches where she resided. In 2018 all her poetry (which was mostly written for or about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren) was compiled in a book entitled Tina's Tender Thoughts and published in her honor. She was a homebound member of First Baptist Church of Concord.

Tina is preceded in death by her parents, The Reverend Doctor Margaret Kent Exevea; step-father, the Reverend Doctor Alfredo Exevea, and sisters Gladys Arnold Clemente and Dorothy Arnold Cabanatuan all of Chicago, Illinois. She is survived by her 5 children, Kent (Elaine) Paraiso, Edris (Jim) Goolsby, Fred Paraiso, Cyndie (Tom) Young, Richard Paraiso; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren followed by two additional generations of grandchildren and several nieces and nephews with their offspring.

No services locally will be conducted at this time. The family will arrange a private memorial service later. Tina contributed her whole life to the Salvation Army because of their benevolent care to her family during the depression when she was a child.
