Todd Soucy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 25, 2023.
Todd Christopher Soucy (52), of Exeter, NH passed away on May 6th, 2023 while hiking in Maine.

Todd was born on December 12th, 1970 in Salem, Massachusetts. Todd grew up in Ipswich, Massachusetts as a competitive swimmer. As an athlete, Todd transitioned out of the pool and onto the football field during his time at St. John's Prep in Danvers. Todd was recruited and lettered in varsity football for the United States Military Academy, graduating as a proud member of the class of 1993. Go Army - Beat Navy! Todd served his country as a part of the United States Army, Signal Corp in Augusta, Georgia; Darmstadt, Germany; Bosnia and Herzegovina; and Frederick, Maryland before transitioning into a career in business software sales.

Todd is survived by his four children, Stefan, Bryce, Mia, and Hayden. He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Sandra, his sisters Karin Lavigne and Kristen Wade, as well as countless nieces and nephews.

There is no one way that any of us will remember Todd. For some, he was the man who would go out of his way to drive you to the airport in the middle of the night. For others, he was the man who knew how to push the boundaries of a joke. For most, he was the man who knew how to enjoy life and how to bring others along with him to do so.

Above all, Todd was a dad who loved and would be willing to do anything for his four children. His son Bryce said it best by claiming, "We not only lost Dad, but we also lost our best friend". Todd's legacy continues with his children who carry on his unique sense of humor and who will forever be a part of the Home Team.

Honoring Todd's request to not have a funeral or any sort of traditional ceremony, a celebration of life will take place on Monday, June 12th, 2023 from 2:00PM to 4:30PM. The celebration will be held at one of Todd's favorite childhood restaurants, Kowloon's Restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, please bring ample cash for the bar.

Todd inspired his underclassmen at West Point to excel. Period. I felt fortunate that he had my back in many situations. What a wonderful friend.

A friend and close confidante at SJP, Todd was inspirational. His intelligence, confidence and pure determination made things come together from sheer will. We lost touch along the way, but there were occasional dinners, random texts and check in call to swap notes about kids, jobs, life. His smile and his wit was infectious and our world is dimmer without him in it. Peace to you all and deepest sympathy for his passing.

Very, very shocked to hear of Todd's sudden passing, doing something he loved. I was due to meet him this month in Boston. He was my work colleague and Line Manager at IQVIA. One of life's good guys and a huge loss to his family. I hope I can join the celebration to his life virtually from here in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

So sorry about Todd. Our son swam for Gators and actually bought Todd´s stadium coat! When Todd came to St John´s he came out for the track and field team. He threw the shot put and ran the 4x100 relay. I was the coach during that time and very much enjoyed working with him. Our son Ray and my wife Dianne send their condolences. Take care Ray Carey
