Todd Thome Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2025.
Todd Ellis Thome UPPER Todd Ellis Thome departed this realm on August 20th, 2025. Todd was born on May 4th,1946 to William and Mildred Thome in Chicago, IL. He moved to Galveston in the 70s and married his wife, Judy, in 1984. He loved her children, Dana and Eddie, as his own, encouraging their talents and interests, teaching them everything he knew, and sharing their love of music. He often said having a family saved him, and it was clearly his pride and joy. As a protector, provider, and devoted husband and dad, he saved them as well. Todd worked hard to provide for his family, often including after work and on weekends, and working on the cars as needed. He also served part-time as cut-and-scrape "doctor" to neighborhood kids who fell off bikes and knew they could get patched up at his family's yard. He retired from Mitchell Historic Properties reluctantly, as he enjoyed his job and was always active. Todd dreaded the thought of Alzheimer's, having already witnessed it's cruelly slow destruction; knowing it was not even a battle, and no one ever wins. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his wife Judy, children Dana & Eddie, grandson Charlie, brother Pete, nieces Ashley, Liz, Heather, Viki, Sherry, & Terry, nephew Anthony, and numerous great-nieces and nephews, among more beloved family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Todd's name to UTMB's Mitchell Center for Neurodegenerative Disease. "'Be excellent to each other', keep a good thought, and learn something new every day."
