ROSSINI (Rossoni), Tomassina Always a believer in the goodness of humanity, she was a shining example of decency, commitment, passion, grace, humour and affection. It is with very great sadness that we announce the death of our Matriarch, Tomassina (Tomi) Rossini, 88 years, on February 14, 2010 at the CKHA. She was the wife and one true love of Hugo for 65 _ years. Loving mother of Lisa Alward (Roy) of Chatham and Anne Wilder (John) of Aylmer. Doting Nonni to Matthew LeClair (Kim), Jenna Smith (Paul), Josh Alward (Cheryl) and Jay Alward (Mary Ellen). Devoted great-grandmother to Amanda, Jessica, Becky, Nicole, Courtney, Dylan, Jakob and Olivia. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews; friend to many. Sister-in-law to Hazel Pasquali (late Mirno), late Dr. Louis and Marjorie Rossoni, Audree Rossini (late Angelo), Carlo and Margaret Rossoni (late Margaret), Bill and Jean Rossini. Sister to late Augustino Savoni (Susan). Sister-in-law to Nella Savoni (late Louie). Predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Teresa and John Horvath. Predeceased by parents Vincenzo and Francesca Savoni. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends for the unwavering love, kindness, compassion and joy of life. She was recognized by Rotary International as a Paul Harris Fellow, having given tremendous support to the Rotary. She worked at Rossinis Restaurant at its inception in the 50s along with the entire family. Dad and Mom moved to Blenheim and retired to the farm where they lived a beautiful life surrounded by family, wonderful friends and pets. She was our inspiration, our champion, our biggest supporter and cheerleader-our family's centre and our true north. Stop and smell the roses-do something kind for someone today and think of Tomi. Rest in peace Mom, you were a class act at whatever you did. Our loss is heavens gain. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home, 156 William St. S., Chatham from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 and again on Friday at the Church from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral mass. Parish Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 7p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church.
