Maryville - Travis P. Harris, age 89, of Maryville, formerly of Monroe County, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at his home.

Travis received his 33rd degree in Scottish Rite Masonry. He was born and raised in Monroe County Tennessee, and relocated to California, after four years in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of San Francisco. He retired as a Lt with the Almeda County California Sheriff's Office. He was treasurer of the Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of Kerbela Shrine, a past Patron of Eastern Star, Royal Order of Jesters, and a member of New Providence Lodge #128, Maryville, Tennessee. He was also a member Eleazar Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha K. Harris; parents, James and Maggie Harris; brothers, Earl, Jesse, and Mutt Harris; sisters, Mable Allen, Louise Harris, Myrtle "T" Rogers; grandson, Christopher Wyrick; nephews, Erwin, Wayne, Kenneth, Rankin, and Robert Harris; nieces, Faye Shell, Margie Cagle, Robin Freeman, and Phyllis Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jane C. Harris; son and daughter-in-law, James "Buddy" and Diana Lynn Childress; grandchildren, Todd, Lori, and Traves Wyrick, Lindsey Lindwall, Sharee McDonald, Denee Walters; several great grandchildren; nieces, Judy Torbett, Janie Underwood, Pearl Viars; nephews, Roger and Bennie Harris, Dennis Manis; and a host of other loving friends.

A Masonic Service will be held at Eleazar Methodist Church, on Saturday, December 23, with the Memorial Service to follow. Rev. Angela Akers will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, at Office of Development, International Shrine Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607-1460. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M., at the church prior to the service. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
