Trifon Agioritis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 14 to Jul. 15, 2011.
TRIFON AGIORITIS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, papou, brother and uncle. Dad passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on July 13, 2011 at the age of 78 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Dad was born in Vothona, Santorini, Greece on April 10, 1933. He immigrated to Canada in 1960, and in 1962 he married the love of his life Kasiani. Shortly after coming to Canada, Dad and his brothers co-founded the Boston Pizza franchise. In the 1970's, Dad ventured into business on his own and proudly started the Trifon's Pizza franchise with locations in Saskatchewan and Eastern Canada. Upon retirement, Dad loved nothing more than to watch his grandchildren play and to sit in his backyard and garden which he felt was paradise on Earth. Dad was pre-deceased by his father Evagelos (1963); mother Margarita (2005); and brother-in-law Antonis Koutsoulis (2005). He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Kasiani; daughter Margarita (Michael) Parisone; his sons, Von (Marlo), George, John (Sandra); as well as his 12 grandchildren, Linda, Kasiani, Tyler, Erica, Trifon, Hannah, Kasiani, Trifon, Maria, Elias, Zoe and Lydia. Papou was very proud of all of his grandchildren. Dad is also survived by his siblings, George (Dina), Gus (Lola), Nina (Kosta), Perry (Irene), Anna (Peter), and Nino (Kathy); as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Despina Roumanos, sister-in-law Matina Koutsoulis, brothers-in-law, Dimitrios (Eleni) Roumanos, Nick (Yiota) Roumanos, and Kosta (Elvira) Theodorakakis; as well as his many nieces and nephews. Prayer Service will be held at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday July 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church with Reverend Father Spiridon Vandoros officiating. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Dad's immediate family would like to thank all of his special caregivers, particularly all the nurses on 3B, ICU and The Allan Blair Clinic, whose efforts made Dad's battle with cancer much more manageable. Special thanks to Dr. Mahmud, Dr. Kakumanu, Dr. Dubai, Dr. Jones and Dr. Keyes. We know that dad was in terrific hands. As well, we would like to say a big thank you to Father Spiro who has helped our family so much during this last week with his spiritual guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 3000 Argyle Road, Regina, SK, S4S 2B2; the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3; or The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 379 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8. We have lost a good good man. The respect and love bestowed upon Trif was always so glowingly apparent from his children. He was the pillar and as in every great building he surrounded and grew the strongest of supports through his family. My relationship with Trif went from business to advisor and finally to friend. You have left a huge impression with me and I join your family and friends in the sadness of this time. You will be missed!

To the family,
Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. I remember Trif as a gentleman, a pleasant person to be around who had his own little corner in the establishment, but always had time to ackowledge people as they came in. He certainly ensured that we were well looked after any time we sought refuge from the street to sit and have a quiet meal or drink.

Papou,
Yesterday you made heaven the happiest place it has ever been. It hurt us all deeply to see you go, and though the pain will never go away, we know with time it will get easier as you left us for a better life, in a place that is eternal where you are now an angel, and you're now free. We hope you know there wont be a single minute of a single day that we will not be missing you and thinking of you. We will take care of the garden for you, as you're in a much more bigger and beautiful garden now. We will also take care of grandma for you, she loved you more than anything. Love you so much papou, you will be missed, and your memory will be eternal

Love, Linda, Ani, Kas, Trifon & all of your grandchildren

xoxo

To Marg, Mike, girls and family;

So sorry to hear about your dad's illness and his recent loss to you. I remember many years ago how thankful I and my compatriots were to have a nice warm place to go, a good pizza and glass of pop as we worked all those nights and weekends policing the city. Trifon's took very good care of us all, and it was appreciated. I know that he understood us, from being one of us, and that was always special. My family's prayers are with you.
