EBY, Valerie "Val" Gaye (nee Strand) November 9, 1953 - May 15, 2011 Valerie "Val" Gaye Eby, beloved wife of Melvin of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the age of 57 years. Val was born in Flin Flon, MB, and raised in Calgary. She worked for many years in the dental profession, then in the oil industry from 1987 to present. She was an avid member of the Oil Wives Association. Val had a zest for life which included spending time with family and friends. It did not matter if she was camping or at the casino, out on a date night with Mel, or shopping with her grandchildren, family, friends or sisters, she always had that beautiful smile on her face. She loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Besides her loving and devoted husband Melvin, Valerie is survived by her children, Rob (Cindy), Tyler and Shaun Beecher; stepsons Jack and Roger Eby; father Otto Strand (Adell); three sisters, Lynne (Paul), Debbie (Bob), Janel (Howard); twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Val leaves this earth to join her mother Ruth Strand. A Celebration of Val's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
