Vern Thompson Obituary
PHARR - Vern Dean Thompson, age 70, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army and was born and raised in Alamo, TX. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of service. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast and enjoyed hunting & fishing.
He is survived by his children, Jon Phillip Thompson of Bulverde, TX. Michael Carl Thompson of Seguin, TX., Christopher Bryce Thompson of Mission, TX., and Lesley Jean Smith of Cypress, TX.; two brothers, Gale Thompson of Munday, TX. & Ray Thompson of Kerrville, TX. a sister, Ann Sumers of Mission, TX. and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Skinner-Silva Funeral Home of Pharr from 5pm to 8pm. A graveside service followed by interment will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 9am at Roselawn Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Skinner-Silva Funeral Home of Pharr.

My heart hurts for you, the family of Vern. I offer my deepest condolences.
I feel privileged to have known Vern for so many years and will always hold dear the fond memories of the fun we all had together fishing, camping, playing cards and just visiting. He will most surely be missed by all that knew him.

Man, Vern was a great guy, I know he will be missed by many. Vern, like my father, was a friend to the gang that would constantly be hanging around his home. He was always friendly and always welcomed all of us.
Chris, Lesley and the entire Thonpson family, I love you and I am so deeply sorry for your loss.
