Virginia Nardozzi Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 24, 2024.
Virginia (Marciano) Nardozzi, 89, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Robert P. Nardozzi and was predeceased by her daughter Lynn, brother James Marciano, sister Ann Laurino, and son-in-law David Kelly. Virginia was born on July 22, 1934 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of Angelo and Antoinette Marciano. After graduating from Wilby High School in 1952, she began working at Colonial Bank and Trust. Some of her co-workers soon became a tight knit group who met for lunch monthly. This group of friends known as "The Club" continued to enjoy this tradition for decades. She was an amazing mother/grandmother/sister/aunt in every sense of the word, making a beautiful home for her family. Her family and friends will recall numerous parties and cookouts where she displayed her cooking talents, particularly her homemade chicken cutlets, pasta sauce, and her famous brownies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia had many lifelong interests which she enjoyed and shared with her loved ones. Although she had to leave the bank prematurely to raise a family, she never lost her love of learning and financial literacy. She had an intense interest in politics, reading, listening to Frank Sinatra, as well as a passion for watching the Boston Red Sox. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family in Misquamicut, RI and Ogunquit, ME. Virginia is survived by her three children, Debbie Kelly of Thomaston; Susan (Donald) Amnott of Southington; Lori (Steve) Austin of Suwanee, GA; and brother Anthony (Barbara) Marciano of Prospect. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren; Christopher (Kristen) Amnott of Cliffwood, NJ; Katherine (Ryan) Erland of Avon; Megan Rippe of Suwanee, GA and Sarah (Kyle) Alonso of Augusta, GA. The family would like to thank the staff at Hartford Healthcare at Home and the Hospice Care team, The Orchards at Southington and especially her caregivers; Pat, Leticia, Nancy, Jane and Andrea for their attentive and compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 AM on Saturday July, 13, 2024 at St. Dominic's Church, 1050 Flanders Rd, Southington. A private burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to JDRF at www.jdrf.org ,or JDRF P.O.
