Wallace P. Haseley

Wallace P. Haseley, age 97, of Bergholz, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 after extended Hospice care, at his residence. Born in the Town of Lewiston, NY on August 3, 1910 to the late Albert and Anna (Ferchen) Haseley. He attended St. Peter's Lutheran School and the former Sanborn School. Wallace was employed as a millwright at General Abrasives for forty years, retiring in 1975. He was an active member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, were he served as a former financial secretary, was involved with the building of both the church and school, and was a grounds keeper at Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. He enjoyed gardening, watching sports, was a mechanical repairman and all around handyman, who always enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors include six children: Marlene (Bernhard) Langhart of Long Island, Lorna (Wayne) Wentzel of Michigan, Roger W. (Linda) Haseley, Willard (Sherry) Haseley, Wilfred (Sharon) Haseley all three of Bergholz, and Florine (Karl) Wilkins of Maine; 6 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren;a brother, Marcus (Lizzie) Haseley of the Town of Lewiston; sister, Lydia Stoelting of Wheatfield; three sisters in law: Gladys Haseley, Althea Haseley and Mathilda Stoelting; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Cordia (Stoelting) Haseley on October 19, 1940;five brothers: Norman, William, Richard, Benjamin and Albert Haseley; and a sister, Esther Beutel.Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Philip N. Sallach on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Road and Luther Street. Interment in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church- Organ Fund.
