1942 ~ 2016
Warren Briant Stringham, 73, beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, servant, friend, and patriot, returned home to his Heavenly Father on April 4, 2016.
He was born December 20, 1942 in Huntington Park, California, the last of four children to Ashby and Zelma Ruth (Christensen) Stringham. Warren attended Brigham Young University before serving in the Australian Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1960-1962. After his mission, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While serving in the military, through letters he met and courted his eternal sweetheart, Geneva Anne Barber. They were married for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on February 4, 1966. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Before his retirement, he achieved a lifelong dream as a founding partner of Utah Interlinx Communications.
Warren was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His service as a teacher, clerk, high counselor, and bishopric counselor to members of the Butler 16th (Wasatch 5th) Ward and the Salt Lake Wasatch Stake taught his family and countless others the value of service and constancy. Most recently, he and Geneva served as ordinance workers in the Draper Utah Temple.
He is survived by his wife Geneva; sons Doug (Rachelle), Mark (Ashley), and Brian (Jackie); daughter Julia (Ammon) Allen; and fifteen grandchildren.
Viewings will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S), Sandy and Saturday, April 9, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Bell Canyon LDS Ward, 9880 S 3100 E, Sandy, with the funeral service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy. The family expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to the numerous doctors, neighbors, and friends who have served the family over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or Missionary Fund.

Dear Stringham family,
We were so sorry to hear of Warren's passing. You were more than neighbors, you were family. We have been remembering all the help you gave us when we built our home and when you helped us put in grass. We thought about the wonderful personalized Christmas gifts and all the long chats. Our thoughts have been with you this week.

Dear Stringham Family,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Warren is one of the greats. He was hugely instrumental in my activation back into the Gospel that set me on a mission and to who I am today. He did it with patience, encouragement, and, most of all, with love. He always had a great smile and embrace that made change and learning new things enjoyable. He was always willing to help and so was all of your family. What a great example of a Priesthood holder, husband and father. Heaven has a great one back home and never forget how close Heaven is. Never lose sight of how close he is as well. All my thoughts and prayers to all of you.

With Love,

Jason Copley and Family

I really enjoyed my time with Warren - as a bishopric member trying to corral the deacons to class, he may have met with some resistance but he made the experience fun. As an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed going back to the home ward and spending time reconnecting with him. I look forward to seeing him again on the other side. He's had a significant impact on my life. Love to all of his family, especially Mark, my peer, and Brian, my work colleague.

Warren has been a great friend to our family for many years. I'll miss his hearty laugh and handshake every time I attended the home ward. He always had a way of making me feel welcomed, and I always appreciated that.

Geneva, Mark, Brian, Julia, and Doug: may you feel God's loving arms around you during your time of grief. May all the fond memories you have strengthen you in the days to come.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Julia's parents were extremely kind when I flew out for her wedding to Ammon. I remember how proud and happy her father was the day they got married, and he had such a marvelous sense of humor. My thoughts are with all of you right now.
