William Elliott Obituary

William Claude Elliott

August 10, 1956 - March 4, 2025

William Claude Elliott, "Bill," went home to heaven on March 4th. Bill graduated from Le Tourneau University in Longview, Texas with a mechanical engineering degree and worked many years for Jeffcoat Mechanical Services in Birmingham. Bill was gifted at understanding how things work and interested in how to fix everything. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping with his nephews and canoeing. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's, Bill remained active enjoying many activities

at the Lakeshore Foundation. Bill particularly enjoyed water volleyball and learning to ride a recumbent bike. Once Bill started riding he was hooked. He made many friends and enjoyed riding all over Birmingham.

Bill married Rebecca Moore in 1996. Bill and Rebecca shared a love of God and a strong commitment to each other. Their love and support of each other was an inspiration to their friends and family.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Rebecca and his parents Harry and Susie Elliott. Bill is survived by his brothers Mark Elliott (Lisa), George Elliott (Alice) and sister Susie Lengel (Bob). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews who have wonderful memories with their Uncle Bill.

Bill's love of people and desire to share his faith with them never wavered through years of coping with Parkinson's and lymphoma. He was a true disciple and was certainly welcomed to heaven with open arms and joyful song.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025 in the Mouat Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood, Alabama. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 following the visitation.

Bill was one of my favorites cousins. We grew up on the same street with him and his parents. He was a very strong Christian and shared his faith with others. He is already missed and will be missed for years to come.
I am thankful he is in heaven with his beloved wife and parents.

I met Bill when I was working with the cycling program at Lakeshore. He bought a recumbent trike that he loved, he would come in and proudly show me things he had tinkered with on it. He became an avid cyclist and rode with several groups in Birmingham always with a smile on his face.

Bill was an incredibly kind man. We could have a debate about say, bicycle riding and he decided he agreed, he'd make changes. He was one of the first people I met at Lakeshore and always lifted my spirits with his presence. Enjoy getting your questions answered by our Father, Bill. With much love.

I enjoyed playing volleyball with Bill at Lakeshore & the fellowship with him over several years. RIP Bill, put in a good word for me up there.
