William Henry Halpen, beloved husband of Carol of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 at the age of 70 years. Bill was born February 5, 1943 in Victoria, BC, the son of Arthur and Mavis Halpen. Bill graduated from Western Canada High School in Calgary and moved onto successfully completing and receiving a dual trade certification as a Welder First Class and Journeyman Machinist from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 1966. After working in the oil and gas industry for a few years, Bill formed his own company, Halpen's Welding, and continued his career in the industry until his retirement. On January 27, 1973, he married Carol Lynn Borgerson in Calgary, Alberta. Besides his loving wife Carol, William is survived by daughter Erica Goheen; grandsons Brandon Goheen and Justin Goheen; nephew Robert Andersen; and nieces Mavis Busch (nee Andersen), Penny Andersen, Danyn Andersen, and Jaymie Andersen. He was predeceased by his sister Lillian Ethel Andersen on May 14, 1988. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Garden (17 Avenue S.E. at Garden Road, 1515 - 100 Street S.E.).
