On May 25, 2021, William "Bill" John Smith, of Parrish, FL (formerly of Philadelphia), peacefully passed away at the age of 57 in the arms of his beloved wife.  Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and a proud graduate of The Temple University.  Bill enjoyed watching and critiquing all Philadelphia sports, being a dedicated athlete, and above all being a coach on and off the field.  He was lovingly known as "C Bill" and  "My favorite Uncle."  Bill loved sitting by a campfire, blasting his favorite music with his beverage of choice, in the company of family and friends.  Bill was always the life of the party and truly was a people person.  The greatest title he's ever held was "Pops".  Bill is survived by his devoted wife Catherine Smith, daughter Nicole Smith, son-in-law William Butler, son William "Bubba" Smith, daughter-in-law Jeanine Codi-Dirienzo, grandson Liam Smith, his parents Margaret and Kenneth Smith, brothers Kenneth Smith (wife Lara), Michael Smith (wife Daniela).  Brother-in-law to Charles Pembroke, Dorothy Greenhaugh, Christine Pembroke, Anna and Chalie Ritter, Bernadette and Charles Sininan, Joseph and Cheryl Pembroke, and James Pembroke.  Uncle of 29 nephews and nieces and great uncle to 9 nephews and nieces. My favorite memory of Bill is when he flew out to Chicago to play in the "Shoot the Bull" 3 on 3 basketball tournament. We won all of the games in our bracket the first day. That night we went out to dinner, had a few beers and I said "Bill, it is up to you. You flew a thousand miles to come out and play we can either go home and try to win the championship tomorrow or we can stay out." At 4 am we were calling a cab from an after hours bar in Chicago...needless to say we didn't win. You couldn't spend time around Bill and not have fun. I will think of Bill every time I watch Temple or the Sixers.

Dear Katie, Nicole and Bubba,

Tim and I were very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was so full of life when we last saw him at Christian's wedding it's hard to believe he's gone.

While he will be sorely missed, I know you will cherish the memories you have of him in your heart.

With sincere condolences,
Tricia & Tim McMullen

I remember when Bill was coming to pick up Katie back in 1981 when I was 7 years old. I remember Bill's white chevy nova and when I first saw him that he looked like Jack Tripper from Threes Company.Bill started to wrestle and chase my bother Jimmy and I around the house.Ever since that day we bonded like brothers and grew close. We would play sports on the weekends, watch the games on TV and go camping all the time.I am going to miss the campfires, and the advice he would give me ( he was almost always right). I am going to miss calling you and talking to you on the phone about sports. Bill, cancer might have taken your body, but it never took your spirit or soul and it will NEVER EVER take my thousands of memories I have with you. They say brother in law but you were my brother and always will be, without question. This isn't a goodbye, this is a until we meet again Bill.I love you. GITTY UP!!!
