Willie Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 17 to May 18, 2023.
Willie Levi Brown, a retired First Sergeant of the Louisiana National Guard, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2023, at the age of 62. He was born on April 9, 1961, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to the late Willie T. Brown and Clementine Harris Brown.

Willie dedicated over twenty-seven years of his life to the United States Army, where he served with distinction. He also worked for Waste Management for over thirty-five years. Willie's commitment to his country was evident in his service in the Louisiana National Guard, where he rose to the rank of First Sergeant.

Willie is survived by his beloved wife of forty-five years, Lori Thigpen Brown, and their three sons: William Babineaux (Marissa) of Noblesville, Indiana; Kevin Brown (Julie) of Covington, Louisiana, and Ricky Brown (Steven) of Slidell, Louisiana. He is also survived by his sisters Lesha, Michelle, and Ella Brown, his brother Robert Ray Brown, and a host of nieces and nephews. Willie was a proud grandfather to Nadia, Kyla, Jaxon, and Sophie.

In honor of Willie's life, there will be no funeral or repass. The Camp Villere Louisiana National Guard will have a 10-minute memorial and burial service. Willie's legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his life. He will be remembered for his dedication to his country and his community.
