Yousef Marji Obituary
Born in Sairh, Jordan, on Aug. 17, 1939, he was the son of Asad and Radwa Horani Marji. He married Nihad Marji on July 4, 1965. For many years, Yousef was the chief maintenance director of the Jordanian Refinery. He moved to the United States 18 years ago. Yousef later retired from Stickley Furniture Company in Manlius. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
Yousef, besides being a very hard working man, truly loved his family and worked tirelessly to provide the best for them.
Surviving besides his wife, Nihad, are two daughters and their husbands, Ann Marji and Ayham Haddad of Amman, Jordan and Nancy and Kamal Marji of Oneida; three sons and their wives, George and Raja Marji of La Mirada, Calif., Tariq and Theresa Marji of Alta Loma, Calif. and Zaid and Nancy Marji of New York City; one sister, Najala Sawis of Jordan; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida and 10 a.m., from St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Saba Shofany, officiating. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, 7- 9, p.m., THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. I have known Yousef for about 12 years and I found him to be a very hard working man, hardly ever an idle moment other then when he and his wife took a trip to Jordan. Yousef called it as he saw it never leaving in doubt what he thought about certain situations.
I will truly miss our conversations, he will truly be missed not only as a neighbor but as a friend.
Nihad,Phyllis and I know the sorrow that you are going through and we pray that God will give you the strength and endurance to see this through.
