Lucia "Lucy" Solis

1948 - 2018

ADRIAN - Lucia "Lucy" Solis, age 69, of Adrian died on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at her home in the presence of her family.
She was born March 4, 1948, in Adrian to Casimiro and Petra (Sanchez) Aranda. On July 29, 1967, she married Paul Solis in Adrian, and last July they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Lucy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she helped with the funeral dinners. She enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's dance recitals and sporting events, sewing, bingo and making tortillas. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Share the Warmth.
In addition to her husband, Paul, she is survived by her mother, four sons, Mark (Amanda) Solis of Austin, Texas, and David (Talina) Solis, Charles (Erin) Solis, and Daniel (Anna) Solis, all of Adrian; a daughter, Stephanie Ruple of Adrian; seven grandchildren, Ciera, Isaac, Caleb, Noah, Mya, Mercedes and Preston; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella; five brothers, Lorenzo (Elsie) Aranda of Adrian, Mel Aranda of Toledo, Ted (Anna) Aranda of Adrian, Santos Aranda of New York, N.Y., and Casey Aranda of Adrian; and two sisters, Vicky Gonzalez of Tecumseh and Stella Guerrero of Grand Rapids, Mich. She was preceded in death by her father.
The Funeral Liturgy will be offered Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Newman as celebrant. Burial will be at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian with a Vigil Prayer Service held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
