Sister Nelda Ann Klein O.P.

ADRIAN - Sister Nelda Ann Klein, formerly known as Sister Ellen Dolores Klein, died on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Mich. She was 87 years of age and in the 67th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sister Nelda was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to William and Nell (Smith) Klein. She graduated from Mohave Union in Kingman, Ariz.; received a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Siena Heights College (University) in Adrian, Mich.; and a Master of Music degree in music education from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Calif.
Sister spent 48 1/2 years ministering in education, secretarial services and music direction in Adrian and Wyandotte, Mich.; Elgin, Ill.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Los Angeles, Oceanside, Oakland, Barstow, Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms, Calif. This includes one year as secretary for the Adrian Dominican Southwest Chapter office. Sister became a resident of the Dominican Life Center in 2010.
Sister is survived by loving nieces: Jeanne Fletcher of Foresthill, Calif.; and Linda Chambers of Nolensville, Tenn.
Welcome of Sister Nelda will be at 6 p.m . Monday, June 12, 2017, in the Dominican Life Center Lobby; the Wake will follow from 6:15 to 7 p.m. in the Rose Room of the Dominican Life Center. The Reception of the Body and Vigil Prayer will be at 7 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017. The Rite of Committal will be in the Congregation cemetery.
