I've known and worked with Alberta for many years, on many community projects. She was extremely helpful with United Way and the Jefferson Awards program to honor community volunteers, as she knew what volunteerism meant. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I did not know Alberta, but I did follow her career and community devotion. She was a loss when she retired from public service, but I am sure our loss is heaven's gain.

In 1996, I mailed invitations for the opening of the Postal Distribution Center (now closed) on Hanthorn Road. Alberta called me to thank me for the invite, but could not come due to a prior commitment.
