Benjamin Bockey Obituary

DELPHOS – Benjamin (Ben) Bockey, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 26, 2022 in a tragic farm accident. He was born on September 6, 1975 to Michael A. and Janice (Fecker) Bockey. He was 47. Ben married Joyce (Bellman) Bockey on May 1, 2004, and they enjoyed a beautiful marriage for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his three sons, Aaron, Zachary and Caleb, all at home. Also surviving are his parents, Mike and Jan Bockey of Delphos; a brother, David (Tori) Bockey of Delphos; and his sisters, Michelle (Dave) Bendele of Ft. Jennings and Jenna Bockey (Kahele Nakaahiki) of Millikin, Colorado. His mother and father-in-law, Donna and Robert Bellman of Ottawa, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Mike) Lammers of Miller City; Tina (Eric) Siewert of Ottawa and Sherry (Randy) Ebbeskotte of Glandorf, a brother-in-law, Doug (Mic) Bellman and many nieces and nephews. Ben will be greatly missed by all.

Ben loved many outdoor activities. You could find him almost any time of the year fishing in the pond behind his house or any river or reservoir, He "worked" hard to catch all his family's fish for Lent.

He loved boating and taking his boys water skiing in the summer; snow skiing in Colorado; ice skating on the pond; gardening and preserving the garden vegetables; barbecuing and grilling for his family and others.

Ben was a devoted father to his three sons, and a dedicated husband to Joyce. They were the light of his life, and the center of his heart. He always put them first in his life, and was proud to attend their school activities. He never made promises he couldn't keep.

Ben was the Co-owner of Bockey AG-Lime; he loved his work in the farming industry. He was a graduate of Delphos St. John High School and a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Visitation for Ben will be at the Weber Funeral Home, Delphos, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022; a Parish Wake will be held Sunday evening at 7:45 p.m. in the funeral home.. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2022 at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Thomas Hunyor officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
