JACK EICKHOLT
NEVADA — Bernard "Jack" Eickholt, age 83, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at 7:45 am at his home in Nevada.
Jack was born in Delphos, Ohio to Bernard J. and Katherina T. (Weck) Eickholt, both of whom are deceased. He was married previously to JoAnne Lewis (deceased) and Carol Holmes (Peterman) of Marion.
He is survived by 3 grandchildren: Tad (Leslie) Eickholt of Bucyrus, Brad (Diana) Eickholt of Fairfax, Virginia, and Kimberly Eickholt of Martinsburg, West Virginia. Along with 7 Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth Garmen, Kyle Eickholt, Brianna Magnum, and Brandon, Kyra, Kayleigh and Brittany Eickholt-Le. He also had many nieces and nephews in the Lima area.
He was preceded in death by a son, David W. Eickholt, and a daughter, Debbie Harris, and 2 sisters, Marjorie Eickholt and Clara Eickholt.
Jack was a graduate of Delphos St. John High School and went on to serve
in the US Army during the Korean War.
He retired after many years with the Timken Co. where had worked in the Heat Treatment Department in Canton, Ohio.
He was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. American Legion Post 181 in Bucyrus and a member of the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association. He was a former special deputy with the Crawford County Sheriff's Department.
Jack also served the Village of Nevada by serving on Nevada Council. For hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, trapping, traveling to Las Vegas and Hawaii, feeding and watching hummingbirds, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Transfiguration of the Lord with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, OFM Conv officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
Visitations will be held 1 hour before the mass at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic School or the American Cancer Society and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
