SPENCERVILLE -- Bobbie Jo O'Dell, 44, of Spencerville passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at OSU Hospitals East Campus.
Bobbie Jo was born on December 18, 1978 in St. Marys, OH to Jerry Dean Schwartz and Deanna Sue (Cleland) Snyder. She grew up in the Spencerville area and graduated from Spencerville High School in 1997. After graduation, she attended Rhodes State College in Lima to study nursing. On July 1, 2001, she was united in marriage to Christopher Lee O'Dell. With her love of helping and caring for others, she took great pride working in the medical field and started working at a nursing home when she was old enough to get a job. She was employed at Roselawn nursing home as an STNA before starting her family. After her first child, Bobbie stayed at home to raise and take care of her family.
Bobbie was very artistic and crafty. She enjoyed painting, coloring, sewing, and gardening. Because of her love for animals, she was a 4-H advisor for many years. To say she loved animals was a bit of an understatement. Her animal hoarding made it tough for her to turn away any creature that came to the house. She was a very avid reader and enjoyed all different categories of literature. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Chris O'Dell of Spencerville; two children, Brandon (Brooke Mullen) O'Dell of Cridersville and Alexzandria O'Dell of Spencerville; her father, Jerry Dean Schwartz of Spencerville; her mother, Deanna (Jack) Snyder of Spencerville; grandmother, Ruth Schwartz; two brothers, Mike (Karla) Schwartz and Joel (Andrea) Schwartz; and numerous in-laws and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Garry Schwartz and grandma Rose Cleland.
