DELPHOS — Carl W. Core Jr., 75, of Delphos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center after a courageous two year battle with brain cancer.
He was born August 13, 1942 in Lima to Carl W. Core Sr. and Rosemary (Talboom) Fry, who both preceded him in death. On September 10, 1983 he married Cheri (Patton) Core, who survives in Delphos.
Carl is also survived by a son, David Core of Middle Point; a daughter, Anita Core of Defiance; a step-daughter, April Patton of Delphos; a brother, Michael Core of Columbus; three sisters, Joyce (Russell) Carroll of Lima, Janet Ridgeway of Delphos, and Marilyn (Rich) Dunn of Toledo; six grandchildren, Lauren Core, Lindsey Core, Noah Core, Chandler Core, Brendan Rupp, and Evan Krumnow.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Larry Ridgeway; sister-in-law, Linda Core; and a step-father, Paul Fry.
Carl was a 1960 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, graduating third in his class. Carl's passion was his business of 35 years, Aero Printing. He always said it never felt like he worked a day in his life, he enjoyed every minute.
Carl's giving heart was a blessing to many, including the community, St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, many ministries and individuals in need.
He loved to travel, watch NHRA drag racing, and classic car shows. Carl was an avid listener of music, especially classical, and of course music of the 60's. He had an incredible memory and a gift for continuous conversation.
Carl will be missed by many, his quirky and dry sense of humor could always bring out a smile.
A celebration of Carl's life will begin 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Carl, but did meet his precious wife , Cheri. I've followed Carl's months of going down hill, through Cheri's FB page. I feel as if I've known him forever. Cheri, you're in my thoughts and prayers...
RIP Carl!
