SPENCERVILLE -- Darlene Marie Klausing, age 79, of Spencerville, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 17, 1946 in Lima to Paul Anthony and LaDonna (Huber) Hotz. On May 7, 1966 she married Thomas George Klausing, who survives, they were just twenty days shy of celebrating fifty-nine years together.
Darlene is survived by a son, Brian (Sharon) Klausing of Van Buren; two daughters, Deanne (Bryan) Harruff of Celina, Stacey (Gary) Berelsman of Fort Jennings; eleven grandchildren; Cody(Ashley) Harruff, Cyle Harruff, Candi(John) Onions, Jason, Alex and Jordan Berelsman, Garrett(Jenna) Berelsman, Brooke(Devin Ricker) Klausing, Lindsey(Cody) Wischmeyer, Brandon and Paul Klausing and eight great-grandchildren, Bryson, Corbin, Grayson, Lawson, and Peyton Onions, and Sophia Harruff, Brooks Berelsman, and Kylie Wischmeyer. She is survived by two sisters, Paula(Robert) Weindandy of Delphos and Maxine (Ronald) Becker of Cloverdale, her in-laws Melvin and LouAnn Klima of Spencerville and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her precious cats; Buster, Smurfy, and Blackie.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Frank and Magdalene Klausing and many aunts and uncles.
Darlene was a 1964 graduate of Spencerville High School. In addition to being a farm wife, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. Darlene was a retired pharmacy tech and worked at Canal Pharmacy in Spencerville for over 30 years. She enjoyed reading and word find puzzles. Darlene loved to cook and bake for her family. She also enjoyed going to polka dances with family and friends and vacationing in Frankenmuth, Michigan with her family.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday April 21, 2025 and Tuesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m.at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or to the American Heart Association.
