FRANCES KOHLHORST
LIMA — Frances Rose 'Betty' Kohlhorst, 86, of Lima died 2:15 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at Richland Manor.
She was born July 18, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Harry Edward and Mary Elizabeth Rose Brinkman. She married Richard Ronald Kohlhorst Jan. 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death May 23, 2001.
Betty had been a Librarian for Perry Elementary School and a private duty caregiver. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, Lima. She was a booster for everything in Perry Township, never missing a sporting event and was the 'bubblegum lady' for the Perry Baseball Team. She enjoyed Ohio State and Dallas Cowboys Football, dancing, playing cards, mowing grass and playing the piano. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include 3 sons: Daniel L. (Cindy) Kohlhorst, Michael A. (Dori Patton) Kohlhorst and Terry L. (Michele) Kohlhorst, 2 daughters: Patricia J. 'Patti' (Dan Hefner) Croy and Margaret S. 'Peggy' (Paul) Cox all of Lima, 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 4 brothers: Thomas (Alice) Brinkman, Bob (Joann) Brinkman both of Kalida, Jim Brinkman of Napoleon and John (Stella) Brinkman of Ottawa, 2 sisters-in-law: Betty E. Arn and Carol A. Ream both of Lima.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Cornelius, August and Paul Brinkman and 3 sisters: Lucy Ann Bellman, Phil Lentz and Elvera Dangler, a son-in-law Rick Croy and a great granddaughter Hayley Kohlhorst.
The family will receive friends 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., Monday.
The Mass of Christian burial will begin 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Lima with Father David Ross, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family wishes to extend their heart felt thanks to all of the staff at Richland Manor for the loving care given to Betty.
Memorial contributions may be given to Perry Fire and Rescue Squad or the Activities Fund at Richland Manor.
