LIMA -- Jack L. Hunt, age 76, passed away on June 24, 2025, at 8:30 pm, at his residence. Jack was born on December 18, 1948, in Lima, OH, to Billie Hunt and Marylou (Stombaugh) Hunt-Wells who both preceded him in death. On July 18, 1970, he married Rebecca Sue (Graham) Hunt who preceded him in death on January 7, 2011.
Jack is survived by his step-mother, Chris Hunt of Bradenton, FL, a daughter, Vicki (Mike) Bowers of Lima, OH, sons: William (Natasha) Hunt of Louisville, KY, James (Lynsey Stewart) Hunt of Findlay, OH and Daniel Brown of Findlay, OH, his grandchildren: Brady (Jennifer) Shafer, Haley (Aiden Payne) Shafer, Brent Bowers, Alyssa Bowers, Cory Bowers, Kyra Waits, Dean (Angel Richmond) Waits, Lillian Hunt and Noah Hunt, great grandchildren: Rene, Hayden, Carter and Lilac Willow, a brother in-law, Jay Belton of Elida, OH, a step-sister, Laurine (Jim) Laderer of Louisville, KY and a step-brother, Larry Wells of Lima, OH.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy L. Shafer and a sister, Jeannine Belton.
Jack attended Lima Senior High School and then in 1967, he graduated from Henry Grady High School in Roswell, GA. He had worked for the Lima Ford Engine Plant for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was a longtime member of the Waffle House in Lima and dearly loved the relationships he built with all of the employees and fellow customers. Jack also belonged to the American Racing Pigeon Union and the Pigeon Racing Club in Findlay.
There will be a funeral service held on June 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Randy Davis. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Sunday, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and then again on Monday, from 12 noon until the time of the funeral at the Shawnee Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.

Jack and I were friends in our younger days. Jack lived on Dingeldine and myself on Franklin. We had lots of fun playing sandlot football and just being kids. Jack was well liked by everyone. RIP Jack.
