JOSEPH MONEY
LIMA — Joseph Lee "Joe" Money, age 69, was called home to the Lord at 2:26 am Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born February 16, 1948 in Lima, to the late Joseph James and Phyllis Jean (Gaines) Money. On June 14, 2003 he married the love of his life Patty (Scott) Money who survives in Lima.
Joe was a 1965 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He retired from the Ford Motor Company (Lima Engine Plant) in July 2006 after 35 years of service. Joe proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed telling stories, fishing, working on cars and he loved music.
He was blessed with a family who loved him dearly: wife, Patricia Lynn "Patty" Money of Lima; children, Laveniana (Shane) Andrews of Hebron, KY, Diana Schroeder - Money of Lima, Joseph L. (Heather) Money of Lima, Alexandrea Sophia Lynn "Allie" (Danielle Hollar) Money of Lima, Casey William (Brooke) Silcox of Lima, Lesley K. (Charles Edward Jr.) Spicer of Lima and Ryan Matthew Silcox of Sidney; 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include, brother, Charles Denver (Vicki) Money of Cridersville; sisters, Linda (Barney) Hyder and Marsha (Rex) Lewis both of Logansport, IN; sister-in-law, Jane Phillips of Tiffin; brothers-in-law, Bill (Fawnda) Scott of Perrysburg and Jim Scott of Elmore.
He is preceded in death by: Son, Denver Money and in-laws, Bob and Marilyn Scott.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Charlie Doseck will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and VFW #1275.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 6, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
