BLUFFTON — Mary Alice Hartman, 91, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
Mary was born October 13, 1926 in New Stark to Clyde and Anna (McAllister) Ream who preceded her in death. On June 1, 1947 she married Clyde Hartman who preceded her in death on July 14, 2012.
Mary graduated from Rawson High School. She was a homemaker who was extremely involved in her church, Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. She was a Sunday school teacher for 50 plus years and often helped with vacation Bible school. Mary also supported Camp Christine in Houston, Ohio. She was a part of the Ladies Aid which made quilts and various items for people in need. Mary enjoyed knitting, but her biggest passion in life was spreading the message of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include a son, David Hartman of Jenera, a daughter, Lynda (James) Tansimore of Edmond, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Hartman, two sisters, Audrey Ream, Dorthy Snare, two brothers, Donald "Riley" Ream and Stanley Ream.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at Bethel Church of Christ. Rev. Dave Underwood to officiate the service. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery near Bluffton following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to WTGN or Bethel Church of Christ.
