MARY POTTEIGER
LIMA — Mary Lois Potteiger, 92, died at on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at her residence in Lima, Ohio.
Mary was born on February 8, 1923, in South Bend, Indiana, to Alexis Coquillard and Mary (Clarke) Coquillard.
Mary was a homemaker. She loved fashion and used to draw fashion designs in her local newspaper. Mary Lois enjoyed acting as a child in her community theatre in South Bend, often playing a character role. She also acted in high School plays.
she belonged to the Century Club in Lima and loved to read. She volunteered for the fish organization and assisted the needy. She insisted on only getting her Kewpee at the downtown location, after all the grills were more seasoned. She loved shopping especially for coats, and lamented the closing of Greggs Department Store. She labored and directed all Holiday meal preparations and was very particular that the onions and celery were cut very fine for the dressing. She loved her family and her friends especially her best friend, Ann Turner. She opened her home to all her children's friends and never sat in judgment of anyone. She was devoted to her mother, Mary Clarke Coquillard and was a great companion to her. She will be thrilled to be reunited with the family dog "Kurt". She did not hesitate to give fashion advice or critique and often left her filter at home which was always good for a laugh. A special thanks to her devoted caregivers, Jill, Cindy and Sarah.
She is survived by a son, Mark Frederick (Cindy) Potteiger, a daughter, Mary Anne (Mark) McGory, of Sandusky, OH, a daughter, Elizabeth Alexis Potteiger, of Lima, OH, a son, David Joseph Potteiger of NY City; and four grandchildren, Daniel Potteiger, Allison Potteiger, Kayla Camstra, and Robert Camstra; two brothers, George Coquillard, of South Bend, IN, and David Coquillard, of CA, special friend, Ann Turner, many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, John Coquillard and Alexis Coquillard.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a wake service at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana, at a later date.

My beloved Lisa, and family...your precious mother was one of my very favorite people-she treated me like one of her own and I cherish the memories of the times spent sitting at your kitchen table and listening to her stories of you and your siblings growing up, her life in South Bend and much more. She is reunited with her beloved mother and probably giving Kurt the dog belly rubs. Prayers for comfort in your loss-love you
