LIMA -- Rebecca "Becky" J. Elwood, 71 of Lima, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at The Springs of Lima, after a courageous battle with cancer. Becky was born April 21, 1954, in Lima, to George and Hazel (Hanthorn) Hahn, who preceded her in death. On August 8, 1981, she married the love of her life, David Elwood, who survives her in Lima.
Becky was a 1972 graduate of Lima Senior High School, and she worked in sales for many years until her retirement in 2009. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Becky especially loved gathering for dinners with her family, sitting around bonfires, and creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth. She also enjoyed expressing her artistic abilities through her lifelong hobby of painting and sketching. Her resilience, generous heart, and deep love for her family were the foundation of her life and the legacy she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Becky grew up with strong family values that she carried through her life.
She was a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother to her children, Amy (Brian) Alberts, Christopher (Cathy) Elwood, Jeremy (Meghann) Elwood, and Stefanie (Dana) Motter. Her greatest joy came from her family and she was a proud grandmother to Alexis (Ben) Hicks, Christopher Elwood, Joshua (Bethany) Alberts, Jonathan Elwood and Hailey Elwood, and a cherished great-grandmother to Knoxley Alberts, Lillian Alberts, Lorelai Alberts and Sylus Elwood.
Becky is also survived by her loving siblings, Deborah (Dave) Vastano, Mark (Kim) Hahn, Tim (Debbie) Hahn and Lori (Kurt) Coon and her love extended to her furry companions as well - her late dog Minni and her loyal Boo, who misses her deeply.
A Celebration of Life is pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance or please plant a tree in Becky's remembrance.
